For my family tree I interviewed my cousin and my mom. Then, I emailed my cousin Sidney. Then to figure out more I made a family tree on Family Echo. I made a Prezi (below) to show all that I have learned about my family. I then made a piktochart as another way to display information I now know.

There are many things said in this video that I agree with. I agree with the fact that we all use our phones too much. I, along with many other people, am guilty of doing such a thing that he is saying not to. When people hang out with their friends, you can see them sitting on their phones, texting other people, browsing the internet. They are doing virtually everything but what they should be doing, having a conversation with the person whom they are with. Majority of people are guilty of doing this, it's what is known as normalcy now. I like how the video tells you to not sit on your phone so much, this video really did make me think about how I do this a lot and how my friends do as well. I enjoyed how it gave a scenario of when someone used their phone and didn't meet the love of your life. It is true that phones can get in the way of you and other people who have great potential in your life. Overall, this video was very meaningful and really got me thinking.

I agree with what the author is saying. I think that the teacher is trying to say that school is a lot more than just learning. School has many more purposes rather than just getting good grades. School tests how hard you work and how hard you are willing to work in order to make yourself successful. It isn't all about the grades, it is about your attitude and your will to do the things that life throws at you. Many worse things will come to us as we get older and move into the real world, and school is just a small step to prepare us for how react to them and how to overcome them. School is a lot more than what we think it is.

Reflect on your stop-motion animation project. How did it go? What worked? What didn't work? If you're not finished - why? If you are finished go in to detail about the project and what you learned. Give as much detail and information as possible.
I think the project went well overall. The hardest part was coming up with an idea and making it actually work. Some ideas were harder than others and made it too hard to do. But, once you found a good idea then the project was good. I learned that it was really hard to continually take all those pictures and have so many of them just to make a 30 second video. We had enough time to do all that was needed, I liked how we were free to do what we want and use what ideas we want. It was a really fun project.

I'm not totally sure what my stop-motion animation is going to be. I plan on taking my pictures either today during class or tonight at home. I plan on trying to get a full plan for what my stop-motion is going to be of. If I get that figured out, I will start taking my pictures.

Stop motion animation is a way to make static (not moving) objects look as if they are moving. You bring the object to motion by breaking up the figures motion into small increments.

I liked how we could take pictures of whatever we want and be as creative as we want to be. It was kind of difficult to fit 5 images into a story. You would have to compromise and think of which pictures/scenes would be the most important in telling the story. I think in my story it is very clear what is happening. I would probably try and be more creative, I'm not a very creative person.

A storyboard is a number of pictures or drawings that represent a story. All the pictures are lined up in a way that tells some sort of story. I don't know any specific ways they can be made, but easily can be put in an order on a word document. I don't know of any websites that help make them.

Yes I got my pictures taken yesterday. I enjoyed going on the scavenger hunt for photos. It was fun and different and I liked it. I have no idea why you had us take those types of pictures. Maybe to help us understand different perspectives? I enjoyed it very much though.

What do you know about photography? When you take pictures what kind of camera do you use? Do you use your cell phone? Do you own a digital camera that is not your cell phone? Explain.
I don't know a lot about photography. I don't know any of the terms or anything. Whenever I take pictures, I usually take them with my phone. On occasion I use a digital camera, but not very often. Most of the time the only camera I have available is the camera on my cell phone. I use a digital camera whenever my mom wants me to take some kind of pictures for her.

Welcome back! How was your Spring Break? Tell me all about it. You've been out of school for 10 days so I know you will have plenty to share. Make it good!
This spring break I went to Florida with 3 of my friends, Kayla, Hannah, and Cassidy. Kayla's dad brought us there. We went to Clearwater Beach and were there for 6 days. We hung out at the beach, walked around, went shopping, met new people, and went to Busch Gardens. It was a lot of fun! Then when I got back I had a concert, the Lorde concert. The concert was a ton of fun! Overall, my spring break was pretty great.

The significance of an infographic is to really explain to someone, in depth about a certain topic. It uses both graphics and information because that is two different ways of learning. It gives you both a visual of what you are saying, and words describing more in depth about that visual. This impacts the reader because some people are better visual learners, so it gives those readers an option to understand the way that they like to. Some people learn better by reading text, and an infographic includes that in it. It appeals to many different people who learn in a variety of different ways. If you had the option of writing a 3 page paper or creating an infographic - which one would you choose? Explain yourself.
I would rather create an infographic. I'd choose this because it is a lot more fun and exciting, you don't just type paragraphs. It doesn't bore you like a paper would. You can be as creative as you want with it, you have a lot of options. Also, you can include just as much information in an infographic as a paper, so it's overall more appealing to me.

Why do I have you brainstorm and collect your information in a Google Doc before putting in to final draft? Explain.
You do it so that we have all of our information gathered. We basically have all the info that we will need to complete the infographic. It helps us be able to see how much things will be put into our graphic. It will also show us exactly how much information we have to work onto a certain amount of space.

I am finished with my 5 paragraph essay, I am just reading over it and self-editing it now. It was easy to write for me. The outline I created really helped me be ready for the essay. It helped organize and gather everything I had to say. All I needed to do after the outline was just transfer everything in it into paragraph form. The outline was really beneficial.

I went to sweetheart this weekend. I went in a group with a lot of my friends. We took pictures, went to dinner, then to the dance. Afterwards we went to one of my friends houses and hung out. It was a great night! I also watched The Super Bowl at my friends house Sunday evening. It was a fun and eventful weekend!

I look up to my mom. She is an overall good person and is nice to everyone. She knows exactly how to help people with whatever situation comes up. She is hardworking and loving. She has to deal with me and my brothers every day, and I admire her for that. She helps me with everything from small decisions to rather large decisions. She is by far the person I look up to most.

The global issue that I have selected is abortion. I selected it because there is a huge controversy on whether or not people should be able to get abortions. What have you learned about Google Drive and Google Presentation so far? What do you like about it? What problems have you run in to? Is it better than PowerPoint? Explain.
I have learned the basics about how to use Google Drive. I've learned how to use it, but haven't gotten into more difficult things on it. I like it because you don't have to save it every now and then, it automatically saves on its own. I also like it because you don't need to have a program, like PowerPoint, in order to use it. It makes it easier to work on projects where ever I am, because all you need is the internet to use it. Problems with the program are that you can't crop pictures. I think overall it's better than PowerPoint, but PowerPoint is a good alternative to use.

I do not agree with this statement. Images on the internet are not "free game" and you can't just use them anytime that you want to. People post pictures on the internet so that you have the option to use their picture or not, but if you use it they expect you to give them credit for it. You are able to use the image that they post, if you cite your sources and give them the credit they deserve.

What do you want to learn in the class the semester? What information do you want to walk away with that you didn't know before? Elaborate!
This semester I want to learn how to not only use a blog, but how to use one more efficiently. I want to learn how to make one, posts things on it, and just create it how I want it. I want to walk away with the knowledge of how blogs work and just overall more knowledge of what to do with a blog. I want to learn new things on the computer through other programs like Prezi. I want to be able to use more programs better than I could before.
